MidLife Astrology Part 3 - The Bridge - Key 1
Introduction:
We’ve seen so far that the midlife time may bring up lots of change and many opportunities to realign to soul’s vision and purpose.
Before experiencing the gift though, we need to find a constructive way to deal with the changes that midlife transits bring up.
Change can be welcome and take you out of a stuck situation, or may make you miserable leaving you feeling even more stuck. You don’t have to wait until you are overwhelmed to start to notice the signs of discomfort.
If you have tools to cross the bridge from the challenge to gift, it greatly up levels this time into one of inspiration and empowerment rather than chaos and disappointment.
In this section we cover the 3 keys that help you to navigate this time with intention so you can get back into the driver's seat of your life and not be at the effect of change.
Key 1: Recognize the signs of sacred timings aka transits:
The Soul speaks very loudly during transits. It helps to learn how to recognize
- When you are in a transit or
- Signs of discomfort that you should NOT ignore or
- Signs that you are coming to a crossroad in your journey
When you are aware of the signs and the transits that correspond, you can make more conscious decisions and do practices to help, rather than needlessly judge and criticize yourself or blame others and outside situations.
An un-constructive way of dealing with challenges will just get you deeper into the very energy that is coming up to be resolved.
Transits will reflect our deepest subconscious patterns that need resolution and that need us to take responsibility for, in order to experience positive change.

Here are some signs to look out for:
Fear: Do you have fear of losing something? (stability, comfort, of being left alone, job, relationships)? Is this fear being triggered more at this time? It could be Pluto, bringing to surface awareness what still lies deep within the subconscious from a past memory. If not resolved, there is a chance of the very thing that you fear, of actually happening.
Issues with authority figures: Do you feel like you are in a tug of war with other people or situations? It could indicate where you've given more importance and power to external energies. This is a reflection of Pluto and Saturn transits. Often these will bring situations where you are projecting authority and handing control to others (they know better, their perspective matters more, I ‘have’ to listen to them, fear of authority figures) or where you may be feeling manipulated and controlled by others or situations. Feeling at the effect of something outside of you.
Lack of faith in Divine: Feel like you’ve been abandoned, even if you ‘did all the right things’ or ‘were good’? This hows a deep lack of faith in your own creator ability or not willing to take responsibility for how you are creating your life, and a desire or hope to be saved by someone greater. We can feel quite flat and powerless when things happen outside of our control, feeling like we very betrayed by the very thing we trusted. This can show up quite strongly when things don’t go according to plan or don’t work out as your mind planned or heart hoped. This can often show up during Neptune transits. We can also feel disillusioned with what we have created, unable to find the joy in it any more.
Resistance to changing patterns: Staying in your comfort zone even when you are noticing signs that something needs to change. Feeling lack of clarity and allowing that lack of clarity to be the reason why you don’t experiment or take new action. Allowing perfectionism to get in the way of trying something new. This can often show up prior to Uranus transits which will bring an unpredictable radical event like a job loss or health issue, to wake you up, to break you out of stagnancy whether your mind is prepared for it or not.
Jealousy, disappointment and resentment at not being recognized and acknowledged for your contributions, looking for validation from the outside world: Chiron transits can highlight these situations. The real pattern is that of not seeing your own self, acknowledging your own strengths.
Consciousness constantly going back to past pain, memories that were uncomfortable, grief, regret: Chiron transits tend to trigger the pain of the past so that healing can start.
All of the above are really unresolved mental and emotional patterns from the past that come up to be resolved. It may look like its something new you are having to face buts its really karmic patterns getting recycled, till the ego is dissolved and our true power comes through.
Becoming aware of these patterns before they create even more discomfort is the key to transforming the challenge into its gift.
